LAGOM DINNER SERIES
Join us for our exciting and unique Lagom Dinner Series at Heirloom. Lagom is a Swedish term with no direct English translation, but it can be loosely interpreted as a word to express a feeling of not too much, not too little, but just right. It is a term for achieving balance, of being entirely comfortable. Our Lagom Dinners are be just that - a casual dining experience accompanied by just the right amount of food, flavor, and companionship.
At each dinner we'll feature a new partner who will pair their expertise with the fine folks in the kitchen at Heirloom. There will be 4 courses served family style to encourage guests to enjoy in the company of old & new friends. We will also hear from our partners, who will introduce their business and practices.
SEPTEMBER PARTNERS-FLYING TRACTOR FARM
For September we are partnering with one of our favorite farms in Door County - Flying Tractor. Flying Tractor Farm uses organic methods and inputs to raise pigs, rabbits, goats, stewing chickens, roasting chickens, ducks, beef & turkeys, as well as a large market variety of vegetables, chicken & duck eggs, & honey. They have two heated greenhouses along with a heated hydroponics room for raising year-round produce and hydroponic fodder for our animals. An 18kW solar photovoltaic system mounted on the barn roof generates electricity to help power our farm operation.
Baileys Harbor Fish Co.
Baileys Harbor Fish Company is a local fish market specializing in processing and wholesale of locally caught whitefish. The fourth generation business also offers fresh, smoked, and frozen fish options. The business also partners with government agencies to conduct valuable research that support national fisheries.
This Lagom Dinner also serves as a kickoff for AutumnFest in Baileys Harbor! More info on that fun event can be found on the Baileys Harbor Community Association website.
Menu will be revealed prior to the event! Stay tuned!
